The Polle Shock Absorber Assembly

The unique Polle Shock Absorber Assembly is a vital component in explaining why the Polle Concert Harmonica has been called “the Rolls-Royce of all harmonicas”.

The Polle Shock Absorber Assembly consists of 3 parts: the shock absorber screw, the silicone sleeve and the mouthpiece screw.

  • The shock absorber screw is 14 mm long and designed with internal and external threads and a neck to hold the silicone sleeve. The shock absorber screw is inserted into the body of the instrument.
  • The silicone sleeve is mounted on the neck of the shock absorber screw, which holds the sleeve in the optimal position to interact perfectly with the slide.
  • The mouthpiece screw is inserted into the top of the shock absorber screw, securing the slide system and the mouthpiece in their correct positions. The mouthpiece screw is made of titanium to prevent the performer from being disturbed by galvanic sensations.

The combination of the internal threading and the slim neck weakens the upper structure of the shock absorber screw slightly. To compensate for this, the mouthpiece screw is 12 mm long to allow it to enter the strong base of the shock absorber screw. This significant detail provides full strength to the upper part of the shock absorber assembly.

The Polle Shock Absorber Assembly allows the performer to take apart and reassemble the entire slide system in seconds, if required.
